Prigozhin’s leadership actions as a mercenary was always sketch to me. His loyalty was for power & money–not people. I have found myself now wondering if Prigozhin may have been enticed to revolt, thinking he would overthrow Putin replacing him as President. Backed and installed by Western powers. I cannot imagine that man being leader of any country, especially Russia. That would be a greater evil mess.
Prigozhin was also a thorn in the side of NATO, particularly in Africa. He could have just as well been offed by NATO, and they have the obvious cover of simply blaming Putin. It gets rid of their adversary and makes Putin look like the villain again. The thing I don’t understand about Putin being behind this is, why would he not just arrest Prigozhin? He could have had him sentenced to death, “legally.”
