One of the things you forgot to mention with 9 mm is it’s the most common pistol round here in United States, it’s stopping power is decent, shot placement increases the stopping power, but the fact is the round is plentiful so… if in a “shit hits the fan” scenario, the odds of me finding additional ammo is greatly increases versus many other handheld rounds especially in urban environments

I’m a 9mm carry guy, loud and proud. Reasonable balance of capacity and capability. I’m a happily married man where “dependable and reliable” goes a long way, lol

  1. Everyone has different taste for guns. I prefer the .45ACP and .45long colt. These have very good stopping power, but they are more expensive than 9mm and not as plentiful as 9mm. If a person is really concerned about ammo availability, then having a gun that shoots both .357mag and .38 would probably be the best scenario. Plenty of those rounds available. Both I’ve found shotgun rounds, especially in 20 and 12 gauge, are the most available of any caliber. Shotgun bulky and unwieldly for chose range? There are very short barrel shotguns available in either single shot, double barrel, and pump. Or, a person can just go out to the garage and cut the barrel down on their own. Beware of barrel length laws in your state.
