Honestly, I didn’t realize this as a kid, but having a cardboard box wrapped in foil for a knight helmet is like 75% of the fun on Halloween. Store bought costumes suck, and always sucked.
We took our kids to a “truck or treat” with first responders vehicles, and adults were pushing my 5 & 6yr olds out of the way. It happened multiple times, and since I’ve raised them to be respectful, they allowed it. I grabbed their little hands and started elbowing my way through the adults. Our society is being flushed right down the toilet.
