Why, for the love of God, didn’t the authors of the 14th Amendment simply say “the children of slaves”, instead of the vague, nebulous language they used?
Good point. But, It’s time now for those in power & who make our laws today to apply a bit a “logic” & find the way to make “birthright citizenship” a thing of the past. We will then be up to date, with the rest of the world.

If you’re not a citizen, neither is you’re child. Period.
The parents are not recognized as legal citizens and neither are their offspring being birthed in the U.S.
