4. The Western nations saw this coming back in the late ’70’s when the radical Islamists started a well-organized protest against the Shah in Iran. At the time, the Ahatollah Khomeini was in exile in Paris and was the public face of the protests. Western intelligence agencies warned of a potential surge of fundamental Islam and that it would create chaos throughout the Middle East and eventually the World. The CIA was ready and willing to assassinate Khomeini in Paris to ‘nip it in the bud’ but was overruled by then POTUS, the idiot Jimmy Carter. The rest is history that we now have to deal with.
