I am currently an 8th grade US history teacher in a public school. The scope of this class is Revolution through Reconstruction. I have the Benjamin Franklin “Join, or Die” flag up in my room. I was gone one day and required a substitute, and this sub complained that I had a decoration in my room that “upheld white supremacy.” I am definitely fighting a losing battle as the Teaching profession as a whole is insanely Leftist, but I try to do my part and combat the woke-ism where I can. I encourage my students to say the pledge of allegiance (not all do and that is their choice, but I say it every day).
