  1. Way back when I was still a devout ANTI-theist who hated everything about all religions, a man named Ira Hays (not the Battle of Okinawa Ira Hayes) made an offhand comment that turned my understanding of the Bible upside down:

    “The amazing thing about the Bible is that you don’t even have to believe a word of it is true, yet if you live your life according to the principles it contains, you will inevitably be healthier, happier, and more productive. I would call that miraculous, wouldn’t you?”

    The 45 years of my life since that day have proven his statement to be true.
