That is the key for political crimes. Resign and walk away with no further accountability. Keep the indictments going and prosecute the culprits.
The election for MN governor is Nov. 3, 2026. Whoever wins won’t be sworn in until Jan. 7, 2027. So Walz will be governor until then because he won’t resign. Amy Klobuchar is considering running but she has her own fraud baggage. Klobuchar and her treasurer Samuel Clark are being sued of Smurfing for a total of $9,633,912. She’s accused of stealing the identities of 5,160 elderly contributors. I don’t think MN has a clean Democrat politician who is running for any office or are already in office.
But anyhow, MN is stuck with Walz until Jan. unless he gets arrested before then.
